BSc Computing with Cyber Security Technology (Top-up)

The BSc (Hons) Computing with Cyber Security Technology teaches students the skills needed to protect computer systems and data from cyber threats. The course combines computing knowledge with practical cyber security training, preparing graduates for careers in network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and information security.

  • The BSc (Hons) Computing with Cyber Security Technology gives students a strong understanding of computing while focusing on cyber security. The course covers topics such as network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cloud computing, cyber defence, and risk management. Students learn through practical lab sessions, projects, and real-world activities that help build technical and problem-solving skills. The programme is suitable for students who want to start a career in cyber security or IT, as well as those who already have experience and want to gain a degree. 


    Throughout the course, students develop the knowledge needed to protect computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. By the end of the programme, graduates will have the skills and confidence to work in different cyber security and information technology roles across a wide range of industries.

  • Applicants normally need 112 UCAS Tariff points to apply for this course. You can check how many points your qualifications are worth by using the UCAS Tariff Calculator. You must also have GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade 4/C or above, or an equivalent qualification. Applicants with an HNC or another Level 4 qualification in computing or IT may be able to join the second year of the course. 


    Those with an HND or Foundation Degree in a computing or IT-related subject may be considered for entry to the final year. Applicants who hold a relevant computing qualification together with a DipHE or another Level 5 qualification, such as a Certificate, Diploma, or NVQ, may also be considered.
