MSc Cyber Security
The MSc Cyber Security Technology (Online) develops practical skills in cyber security, cloud computing, networking, and information governance. Students study entirely online through flexible learning and complete real-world projects, preparing them for careers in cyber security, IT security, cloud security, networking, and digital technology.

The MSc Cyber Security Technology (Online) is designed for graduates who want to start a career in cyber security without previous experience in the subject. The course develops practical and technical knowledge of cyber security, cloud computing, networking, information governance, and digital technologies. Students learn how to identify security threats, protect computer systems, manage cyber risks, and apply security solutions using modern tools and technologies.
Teaching is delivered fully online through lectures, tutorials, practical activities, videos, and interactive learning materials, allowing students to study alongside work or other commitments. The programme also develops problem-solving, communication, research, and professional skills needed in the technology sector. A major project gives students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to a real cyber security challenge. Graduates will be prepared for careers in cyber security, IT, networking, and digital technology.
Applicants should normally have a minimum 2:2 honours degree from a recognised university in any subject except Cyber Security, or an equivalent professional qualification. The course is designed for graduates who are new to cyber security and want to develop the knowledge and skills needed to enter the industry. Applicants without standard academic qualifications may also be considered if they have at least three years of relevant IT or software development experience.
In these cases, applicants must provide a personal statement and discuss their experience with the academic team. Applicants should also have GCSE English at grade A–C/4 or equivalent. This online programme is suitable for students who want the flexibility to study while working.
