Students learn how to identify security threats, protect computer systems, manage cyber risks, and apply security solutions using modern tools and technologies. Applicants should normally have a minimum 2:2 honours degree from a recognised university in any subject except Cyber Security, or an equivalent professional qualification. The course is designed for graduates who are new to cyber security and want to develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to enter the industry. Applicants without standard academic qualifications may also be considered if they have at least three years of relevant IT or software development experience. In these cases, applicants must provide a personal statement and discuss their experience with a member of the academic team. Applicants should also have GCSE English at grade A–C/4 or equivalent.
