BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance with Foundation Year
The BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance with Foundation Year prepares students for careers in accounting, finance, and business. The Foundation Year builds confidence and academic skills, while the degree develops knowledge of accounting, financial management, business finance, and economics, alongside practical, analytical, and professional skills valued by employers.

The BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance with Foundation Year is designed for students who want to develop the knowledge and practical skills needed for a career in accounting, finance, and business. The Foundation Year provides additional support for students who want to build their confidence before progressing to degree-level study, introducing key areas such as business, finance, communication, and research skills.
Throughout the course, you will explore important topics including financial accounting, management accounting, business finance, taxation, auditing, economics, and financial analysis. You will learn how organisations manage money, use financial information to make decisions, and respond to financial challenges.
Alongside technical knowledge, you will develop valuable skills in communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, numeracy, and decision-making. By the time you graduate, you will be prepared for a wide range of careers in accounting, finance, business management, or further professional study.
Year 1 Entry
You need 112 UCAS points from Level 3 qualifications such as A Levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma, an Access to HE Diploma, or T Levels. You also need GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or an equivalent qualification.
Foundation Year Entry
You need 72 UCAS points from Level 3 qualifications, plus GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or an equivalent qualification.
Direct Entry
You may be able to join Year 2 or Year 3 if you have relevant higher education qualifications or credits in a related subject.
Mature Applicants (21+)
If you do not have the required qualifications but have relevant work experience, you are encouraged to apply. Applications are considered individually. Some applicants may need to complete an English language assessment.
