BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering - Part Time

Develop the technical knowledge and practical skills needed for a career in electrical and electronic engineering. This flexible degree explores circuit design, signal processing, control systems, and modern technologies, preparing you to design, improve, and manage electrical solutions across industries while balancing your studies with professional and personal commitments.

  • This BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree is designed to provide you with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed for a successful career in the engineering sector. Available as a part-time programme, it offers a flexible route for students who want to gain an engineering qualification while managing other commitments.


    Throughout the course, you will explore key areas including electrical circuits, electronic systems, signal processing, control systems, and engineering design. You will develop the ability to analyse challenges, design effective solutions, and apply engineering principles to real-world technologies.


    The programme also focuses on developing professional skills such as problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and lifelong learning.

  • Minimum of two GCE A Level passes (or equivalent), including:

    Mathematics

    Physical Science

    Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), including:

    Mathematics

    Science

    English

    Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency through IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.

    Applicants may be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of work.


    Additional Entry Considerations:

    Mature and non-standard applicants with engineering-related work experience may be considered following an interview.

    Applicants entering at higher levels may be considered with relevant qualifications such as an HND/HNC, provided the required mathematics level has been achieved.

    Applicants with a Foundation Certificate or Access to Higher Education Diploma may also be considered.
