This BEng (Hons) Software Engineering degree is designed to provide you with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional confidence needed to succeed in the fast-growing software industry. Available as a full-time or part-time programme, it offers flexibility for students balancing education with work or other commitments.
Throughout the course, you will explore key areas of software engineering, including programming, software development, system design, database management, software testing, and project management. You will learn how to analyse problems, design effective solutions, and develop reliable software systems using industry-relevant approaches.
The programme also helps you develop valuable transferable skills such as problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and project planning.
Minimum of two GCE A Levels (or equivalent) in any subjects.
Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), including:
English
Mathematics
Technology or Computing-related subjects
Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency, typically through IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
Applicants may be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of work.
Candidates with relevant work experience, alternative qualifications, or suitable portfolios that demonstrate their ability to succeed on the course will also be considered.
