BSc (Hons) Human Resource Management with Foundation Year

The BSc (Hons) Human Resource Management with Foundation Year prepares students for careers in human resources and people management. The Foundation Year builds academic confidence, while the degree develops knowledge of recruitment, employment law, leadership, and employee development. The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

  • The BSc (Hons) Human Resource Management is designed for students who want to develop the knowledge and skills needed to manage people effectively and support organisations in today’s workplace. 


    Available as a three-year degree or a four-year programme with a Foundation Year, the course provides additional support for students who want to build confidence before starting degree-level study. Throughout the programme, you will explore key areas including recruitment, employment law, leadership, employee wellbeing, organisational behaviour, and workplace development. 


    You will develop practical skills in communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and managing people, helping you understand how organisations attract, develop, and retain employees. The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), reflecting recognised professional standards in human resource management. 


    By the time you graduate, you will be prepared for careers in human resources, recruitment, training, employee relations, people management, or further postgraduate study.

  • Year 1

    You need 112 UCAS points from Level 3 qualifications such as A Levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma, an Access to HE Diploma, or T Levels. You also need GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or an equivalent qualification.


    Foundation Year Entry

    You need 72 UCAS points from Level 3 qualifications, plus GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or an equivalent qualification.


    Direct Entry

    You may be able to join Year 2 or Year 3 if you have relevant higher education qualifications or credits in a related subject.


    Mature Applicants (21+)

    If you do not have the required qualifications but have relevant work experience, you are encouraged to apply. Applications are considered individually. Some applicants may need to complete an English language assessment.
