BSc (Hons) Psychology with Counselling with Foundation

This Psychology and Counselling course helps you build the knowledge and skills needed for further study or a career in the field. You’ll learn key psychological theories, explore human behaviour, and develop practical skills in communication, research, and understanding people in real-world settings.

  • This Psychology and Counselling programme is designed for students who want to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for further study and careers in psychology, counselling, and related fields. 


    The course combines academic learning with practical and professional development, helping you understand key ideas in human behaviour, mental health, and emotional wellbeing. Throughout the programme, you will explore psychological and counselling theories, research methods, and evidence-based approaches while learning how these concepts apply to real-life situations. 


    You will also study important topics such as diversity, culture, relationships, and the experiences of individuals, families, and communities. Alongside subject knowledge, you will develop valuable skills in communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, research, and professional practice. 


    By the time you graduate, you will be prepared for further study or careers in areas such as counselling support, wellbeing services, community work, and other people-focused professions.

  • Applicants Must be Aged 18+ and:

    Have a Level 3 qualification (equivalent to either 60 credits or 80 UCAS tariff points).

    Have the following English qualification: GCSE grade 4/C or CEFR B1. If you do not have this qualification, you can carry out an English test.


    Applicants Aged 21+: 

    We welcome applications from students 21+ who do not match the standard entry requirements but who can demonstrate willingness and commitment to studying this subject, and who can evidence academic, professional or vocational experience in a related field. Have the following English qualification: GCSE grade 4/C or CEFR B1. If you do not have this qualification, you can carry out an English test.
