BSc (Hons)Computer Science Top-Up
This BSc (Hons) Computing (Top-up) programme builds on your existing computing qualification, enhancing your technical knowledge and practical skills for today's technology industry. Develop expertise through industry-focused projects, live business briefs, and hands-on learning while preparing for careers across software development, networking, cyber security, and IT management.

The BSc (Hons) Computing (Top-up) programme is designed to help you build on your previous computing studies and achieve a full honours degree while developing the technical expertise employers value. With opportunities to specialise in areas that match your interests and career ambitions, the course combines academic learning with practical industry experience.
Through live business briefs, real-world projects, and access to modern IT facilities, you will strengthen your knowledge of computing principles while enhancing your problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills. Small class sizes and experienced lecturers provide personalised support, while guest speakers bring valuable industry insights into the classroom.
By the end of the programme, you will be equipped with the confidence, practical experience, and professional skills needed to pursue careers across the rapidly evolving computing sector or continue your studies at postgraduate level.
Applicants should normally have successfully completed a Foundation Degree (FdSc), Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Networking, Computer Security, or another relevant subject comprising at least 120 credits at HE4 and 120 credits at HE5. Equivalent professional qualifications, such as an APTECH Advanced Diploma in Software Engineering with an overall Credit or Distinction profile, may also be accepted.
Applicants with non-standard qualifications and relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered individually. An interview and/or portfolio of work may be required.
