BSc Accounting and Finance (Top-up)

The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance (Top-up) helps students enhance their expertise in accounting, finance, and business while completing a full honours degree. The programme develops analytical, technical, and professional skills needed for careers in financial services, banking, accounting, and corporate management, as well as further academic study.

  • The BSc (Hons) Accounting and Finance (Top-up) enables students with prior higher education qualifications to complete an honours degree while building advanced knowledge of accounting, finance, and business management. The programme explores key areas including financial reporting, auditing, corporate finance, and responsible financial management, helping students understand how financial decisions support organisational success. Throughout the course, learners develop analytical, research, and problem-solving skills by applying theory to real business situations using industry-relevant technologies and financial data. The curriculum also strengthens professional communication and critical thinking, preparing students to respond confidently to the challenges of today's financial environment. Graduates are equipped with the academic knowledge and practical skills needed for careers in accounting, banking, financial services, and corporate finance, as well as progression to postgraduate study.

  • This top-up degree is intended for students who already hold a relevant qualification in business, accounting, finance, or a related discipline. Applicants may join the programme at Year 2 or Year 3, depending on their previous studies. Suitable qualifications include a Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE), HND, Foundation Degree, or another recognised Level 5 qualification in an appropriate subject. Applications from individuals with relevant professional experience but without standard academic qualifications may also be considered on a case-by-case basis. International applicants must meet the University's English language requirements, typically achieving an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no individual component below 5.5, or an accepted equivalent qualification. Country-specific academic qualifications are also accepted where applicable.
