BSc Computing with Technology (Top-up)

The BSc (Hons) Computing with Technology develops practical computing skills across software development, networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise technologies. The BSc (Hons) Computing with Technology provides students with a broad understanding of modern computing and emerging technologies, preparing them for careers across the IT sector. The programme develops practical knowledge of software development, networking, cloud computing, cybersecurity, DevOps, enterprise architecture, and digital technologies, enabling students to design, implement, and manage technology solutions for businesses. Through hands-on laboratory sessions, industry-focused projects, and real-world case studies, students strengthen their technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills while gaining experience with current computing tools and practices. The course also develops communication, teamwork, and professional competencies that are essential in today's digital workplace. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge and practical experience required for careers in software development, network engineering, IT management, and digital transformation, or for further postgraduate study.
Applicants can enter the programme at different stages depending on their previous qualifications. Entry to Year One normally requires 112 UCAS Tariff points, together with GCSE English Language and Mathematics at Grade 4/C or an equivalent qualification. Direct entry to Year Two is typically available for applicants holding an HNC or another recognised Level 4 qualification in Computing or Information Technology. Students applying for Year Three should normally possess an HND, Foundation Degree, Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE), or another recognised Level 5 qualification in a computing or IT-related subject. Applicants entering Levels 5 or 6 must also provide evidence of a Level 2 Mathematics qualification or equivalent, although exemptions may apply where previous quantitative study has been completed. International applicants must meet the University's English language requirements, including IELTS 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5, or an accepted equivalent.
