  • Asbestos remains one of the most significant health hazards in the workplace, contributing to over 4,000 deaths annually due to asbestos-related diseases. This course provides essential knowledge to help workers identify, manage, and prevent accidental exposure to asbestos fibres.


    The course covers the following key areas:

    Understanding Asbestos and Its Risks

    Identifying Asbestos in the Workplace

    Legal Responsibilities and Compliance

    Risk Prevention and Safe Working Practices

    Responding to Asbestos Exposure


    This course is not a qualification for working with asbestos but is designed to raise awareness for those who may come into contact with asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in their work.

  • This is a half-day course delivered in a classroom environment using a variety of teaching methods, including visual aids, group activities, and handouts.
    Learners will be assessed through a short multiple-choice test at the end of the session to confirm their understanding.
    Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate and an Awarding Body-issued card verifying their Asbestos Awareness training.

    • Receive a certificate and card from the awarding body, verifying their asbestos awareness training.

    • Recognize the health risks associated with asbestos exposure.

    • Understand where asbestos is commonly found and how to identify potential hazards.

    • Gain knowledge of relevant asbestos legislation and employer and employee responsibilities.

    • Learn best practices to avoid disturbing asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).

    • Be able to take appropriate action if asbestos is accidentally disturbed.

  • This course is ideal for those looking to improve their safety awareness, ensure compliance with regulations, and enhance the overall workplace safety culture when working in environments where asbestos may be present.

No formal qualifications are required.
This course is suitable for workers in construction, maintenance, refurbishment, and other industries where asbestos exposure may be a risk.
