Traffic Marshal Awareness

This course aims to reduce injury risks by minimizing incidents that harm individuals and property.


  • This course is designed to raise awareness of the risks associated with working near moving vehicles and plant. It covers key aspects of traffic management, including hazard identification, effective communication with drivers, staff, and visitors, and the correct use of traffic marshalling hand signals to safely guide vehicle movements. The training aims to reduce incidents, minimise risks, and ensure a safer working environment.


    The course covers the following key areas:

    1. Course aims and objectives

    2. Relevant health and safety legislation

    3. Hazard identification

    4. Understanding RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements)

    5. Traffic marshalling hand signals

    6. Practical demonstration

  • This is a half-day course delivered in a classroom environment using a variety of teaching methods, including visual aids, group activities, and handouts.
    Learners will be assessed through a written test at the end of the session to confirm their understanding, as well as a practical demonstration of hand signals.
    Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate and an awarding body-issued card verifying their Traffic Marshalling Awareness training.
